For EU SMEs asked for sustainability data by a bank or customer

Your bank asked for a sustainability report. Here is the fastest honest way to produce one.

Answer a guided flow built on the EFRAG VSME Basic Module. You get a clean, branded report you can send, plus a plain list of what is still missing and how to collect it. No spreadsheet wrestling. The first report is free.

Not audited, not certified, not legal advice. This follows the VSME Basic Module structure and shows you exactly where the gaps are.

Why you are being asked, and why VSME is the ceiling

Large companies under the CSRD need sustainability data from their value chain. That is why the request landed on you.

1

The request comes down the chain

Banks and big corporate customers report under the CSRD. To do that they ask their smaller suppliers and borrowers for sustainability figures.

2

They cannot ask you for more than VSME

Under the value chain cap, a company with 1000 employees or fewer cannot be forced to hand over more than the VSME voluntary standard asks for. VSME is the ceiling, not the floor.

3

So a VSME report is the right answer

Produce the VSME Basic Module once, in a form they recognise, and reuse it for every bank and customer that asks. That is what this tool builds.

Why not just fill in the free Excel?

EFRAG publishes a free VSME template. You can absolutely use it. Here is what a blank spreadsheet of a hundred cells does not do for you.

Honest answers

The questions people actually ask before they trust a report to their bank.

Does this certify my company or guarantee compliance?

No, and be wary of any tool that says it does. VSME is a voluntary standard and no tool certifies it. What this does is structure your data following the EFRAG VSME Basic Module, show you what is missing, and produce a clean report. It is not audited and it is not legal advice.

Is the report accepted by banks?

Banks ask for VSME format data, and this produces exactly that structure. We cannot promise any specific bank will accept any specific report, because that is their decision and depends on your data. What we can do is make sure you are answering the right questions in the right shape.

What is actually in a VSME Basic Module report?

Eleven disclosure blocks, B1 to B11: your basic profile, sustainability practices, energy and emissions, pollution, biodiversity, water, waste, workforce numbers, health and safety, pay and training, and any corruption or bribery convictions. The tool walks you through each one.

What if I do not have all the numbers yet?

That is normal, and it is the point of the gap list. Fill in what you have, generate the report, and you get a clear list of the required datapoints you still need to collect, each with a short note on what it means.

Do you keep my data?

We store the answers you enter and the email you give us, so we can generate your report and send you the link. We do not sell your data. You can ask us to delete it at any time. See the terms for details.

What happens when EFRAG changes the standard?

That is why a hosted tool beats a spreadsheet you downloaded once. When the Basic Module structure is revised, we update it and your next report follows the current version, with nothing for you to re download.
